Love is All There Is

By Tanis Helliwell
The Bottom Line
I’ve discovered in that last several years that each time I came to a venue where I was to speak it did not feel right to do my prepared talk. Instead, what felt right was to speak spontaneously and extemporaneously from my heart about love.
This situation is similar to a dilemma that faces many people presently. We are at a time in history when the exaggerated importance of facts, information and elevation of the mind to the exclusion of the heart no longer serve us. Our minds are stuffed, in fact overstuffed, but our hearts and souls are starving.
Knowledge without Love is Cold
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not recommending that we exclude knowledge in our search for heart and soul even though we have done the opposite of this by excluding heart and love in our search for knowledge. What I am recommending is that each of us activates our heart and love to support our knowledge in our world. By doing so, we light a fire in our hearts that raises knowledge to wisdom. Without love our knowledge is cold and we cut ourselves off from others and the impact that our actions have on others. Not only that, we cut ourselves off from our own souls and end up living a half-life, being a kind of robot awake only from the neck up and dead to our body and our feelings. This is why so many people feel isolated and alienated from others in our world.
Why did this happen?
When we are cut off from love for others we are able to do things that we would never otherwise be able to do. The cult of I,me, me, mine, which is the cult of the personality, has dominated our western world until recently and we have separated ourselves from others in order to take more for ourselves. More money, more power, better jobs. If we were to feel the pain that others feel when they have no work, or when they feel powerless to contribute in a meaningful way in their lives and work, we would not act as we do.
The Cure
The solution is obvious and terrifying to most people. That is, to speak from our hearts about how we really feel about our work and our life. To ask for what we want. To share our own confusion and frustration about what we do not understand. Then to ask for help and to show willingness to embark on a process of co-creation and mutual discovery to find new ways to live and work together. That is what the Aquarian Age is all about.
